COLIN KANG SENG KOK (In Remembrance)
(LL.B. (Hons), Barrister of Middle Temple, ACIArb., Advocate & Solicitor, Singapore)
Colin was our late founding director. After reading law in England, he was called to the Bar in England and then to the Bar in Singapore in 1999.
Colin had extensive experience in handling family matters, accident claims, civil and criminal litigation, corporate matters, conveyancing and probate. He had a special interest in family matters and was one of the budding lights in this area, something the practice has kept alive.
Colin served the community well. He did pro bono work under the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme and his colleagues there recognized his contributions by observing a minute’s silence at one of their functions. He was very active in his church and in various other organizations.
Colin passed away, tragically, on 5 December 2007 at the age of 34. He was single and is survived by his parents, Stephen and Moreen Kang. He is remembered fondly by his family at EALC and his many friends for the spirit with which he coped with his illness, the enthusiasm with which he lived his life and the motto by which he lived – “DO YOUR BEST AND GOD WILL DO THE REST”.
